Building a city in one day

From time to time, we in the Molin Art Program like to take on 1-day art challenges. The results are always exciting! 

One day, I asked the 4th and 5th grade children to build a city in just one class. Here are some of their solutions:

Silhouettes and Sunsets

Our 4th graders have been learning about trees, and what the work "silhouette" means. We combined that learning with reviewing the primary colors and understanding the color wheel. Then we used wet-on-wet painting techniques to create beautiful beautiful sunsets using only primary colors to make secondary colors
